the double desk

this is what a normal thursday looks like around here

and i love it

josh works from home one day a week and it takes a little bit of re-arranging but luckily our desk is big enough that we can just pull up an extra chair and have a workspace for both of us.

insta-friday and week 3 of photo-a-day

i really have been trying to blog more often. i have photos from fall shoots that are just sitting here waiting to be posted. i thought this was going to be the week, but then i caught a little of the sickness that has been going around so i've been logging major hours on the couch with my dvr and a box of tissues.

i'm not the type to set un-realistic expectations for myself, so for this next week-my goal will be to post again before friday. as much as i love linking up for insta-friday, i don't want this blog to turn into posts full of instagram photos.

here we go with week 3

saturday started early for us
we were watching the nephews for the morning
one wanted hot chocolate, with marshmallows of course. the other didn't want the hot chocolate but still wanted the marshmallows...in his milk
we also modeled rain boots and made obstacle courses

i love these square mugs at my sister-in-law's house

this was the view from my seat of obama's second inauguration

i made an amazing pot of chicken & white bean chili earlier this week

sweet-tart hearts! love holiday candy!
i actually don't really care for sweet-tarts unless they are hearts, eggs, or skulls & crossbones...[i think those are my favorite but that is for obvious reasons]

another part of the living room makeover checked off the list

photo-a-day #1 AND instafriday

ok so i know that when i started this whole post-a-photo-on-instagram-every-day-this-year thing i said that i would be doing monthly re-caps of the photos here on the blog. however, i'm only two weeks in and i was thinking that maybe 30 photos in a post may be a bit too much, so i'm going to try to do these re-caps every week or maybe every other week and also start linking up with Jeannett at LifeRearranged like i did [umm, one time] last year. but this time only better.

its like killing two birds with one stone, or killing stones as jasmine star would say.

OH! and it SNOWED last night. i guess the weatherman heard my plea on instagram for the rain to turn to snow AND IT DID! i'm still not sure why i get so excited about the snow, it's no surprise that i would pick the beach and sun any day, but im guessing you can sense my excitement by my use of all caps. so, in honor of the SNOW we will start with my photo from today and then jump back to day 1 and go from there.

here is the view from our front door this morning.

started off 2013 with a brand-spankin-new calendar. this paper source calendar is one of my favorite planners ever. i love the thick, non-white pages so i can write freely with my sharpies and not worry about it bleeding through to next month and its big enough but still small enough to throw in my purse. which who are we kidding, that is normally the size of a small suitcase so any size planner would fit.

spent a few days at the Children's Museum of Richmond earlier this month
the central location and the one in short pump are fantastic (i haven't been to the new location in chesterfield yet), if you have little ones i'd definitely recommend checking it out sometime soon

for christmas, i decided to make gifts for the nephews. they love to spend the night over here and also with their grandparents, and i saw something on pinterest, and then i spent way more time making them then i thought i would, and then someone suggested adding buttons, and then i decided to add coordinating blankets, and then, and then, and then...
we are calling them 'pillow beds' but they also work great for a movie night.

another one from the children's museum

i wrapped this gift almost two weeks ago for a good friend who is expecting her first baby this spring.
i have been to the post office multiple times since then yet the package is still sitting in the dining room, waiting to be mailed.

we got some awesome new tervis tumblers for christmas, custom made with foxes.
we love them.

it was a blast from the past when i found V playing with trolls

waiting in the carpool line, or suv line-up as i like to call it.

this is, by far, my favorite coffee mug. ever.

want to send me some mail?

another fox.

a rainy day at work. H took a nap, i did a crossword puzzle.
filled in the entire thing.

so what if it was from people magazine.

and then i did a different kind of puzzle

a little before and after of my desk. i came in here to work last weekend and had to get organized before i could even start working. and add coffee. duh.

speaking of organizing...i scored this egg holder (?) from marshall's around the holidays. you know, the time that you are supposed to be buying for others, but all you want to do is buy for yourself. please tell me i'm not the only one with that problem. i'm using it to hold all the random small jewelry and accessories that I have no other place for.

i mailed out some flyers to spread the word about my 2013 KICK OFF SPECIAL
if you haven't taken advantage of it yet, you have until march 3rd to purchase your session. you have until mid-october to use your photo session so if you are thinking about having photos done at some point this year, it's a good idea to buy this now and use it then.

this was the third day in a row of rain.
i said on instagram that that was about two days too much for me.
i like one rainy day every once in a while so i have an excuse to wear my rain boots.
after that, bring back the sun please!
and yes, i was stopped when i took this picture.

the next day it rained AGAIN!
it eventually turned into snow so i'll stop complaining.
but we spent most of our afternoon at the library and i fell in love with this pattern on their community board.

well, that is how i kicked-off 2013.
i'd love for you to kick-off your 2013 with ME and schedule your photo shoot today

Hannah [high school senior portraits]

i want to introduce you to one of the most genuinely nice people i have ever known. i would imagine that when most people think of characteristics like genuine, nice, caring and others like that, that the last person who comes to mind would be a teenage girl, but this girl is different. different in a very good way. not only is she all of the things mentioned above, but she is an amazing artist AND a fabulous dancer. pair that with her gorgeous looks and i would call that a triple threat! internet, meet hannah.

im always looking for upcoming seniors in the richmond, va area to be a SFP senior rep
reps receive lots of fun freebies. contact me for more details

2013 KICK OFF

If you follow me on Facebook, then you already know about the 2013 KICK-OFF special that I am running now through March 3rd. I have put together a special portrait package centered around the number 13 to help celebrate the new year.

The new year is a great excuse to update the pictures of your kids, you know, the ones that you have of  your now 5 year old, when they were six months old. Yes, I'm talking to YOU!

And if you don't have kids, then why not surprise your boyfriend, girlfriend, fiancé, husband, wife or whoever with some photographs for valentines day?

2013 photo-a-day

Happy New Year! 2013 has lots of changes and new things in store for Stephanie Fox Photography and I couldn't be more excited! The first of which started a few days ago, and I'd love for you to join me!

If you are on Instagram or Twitter, I'm sure you've seen some sort of photo-a-day challenge circulating around on your feed. Some are very specific, stating a category the photo must fall under for each day, others are just a collection of random photos, showing day-to-day life as it happens. You all know I like to keep things simple around here so here we go with my version of the photo-a-day challenge.

one photo
posted to instagram or twitter
include #SFPphotoaday
each day in 2013

the photo can be of anything you do that day

I'll be posting my photos on both instagram and twitter so now is the time to start following me @stephfoxphoto so you can see what goes on around here in 2013. I'll also be doing monthly re-caps here on the blog with some of the photos.

I think this will be a fun challenge for the year and if I can keep up with it for the whole year, i'm going to make a book, a 365 page book to be exact.
